New Zealand: Getting Acquainted with Auckland through Aucky Walky Tours

As we’re looking at ways to learn more about New Zealand and the places we visit, Aucky Walky’s tours are very appealing. They have two tours that we are considering: The Hello Auckland Walking Tour or Taste Auckland Food Tour.

Hello Auckland Walking Tour

Since we’re on a budget, the first thing that stands out is the price of the Hello Auckland Walking Tour. It’s three hours long and reasonably priced. Beyond that, the tour emphasizes history and culture while providing an opportunity for a chocolate tasting and refreshments along the way. As part of the introduction, we’ll get to take a locals’ bus, which could help us figure out how to navigate the local transport system, allowing us to avoid renting a car. A Sky Tower lunch or a fish and chips option can be added to this tour.

Taste Auckland Tour

Described as a “moving feast of local food,” the Taste of Auckland Tour that appeals to my taste buds and stomach. I really like walking and eating. The main drawback is the price, which is the same as the Hello Auckland Walking Tour when adding on the Sky Tower lunch. (The Sky Tower is on everyone’s list as a main attraction, and its restaurant is the highest restaurant in the Southern Hemisphere.) Still, spending time sampling the flavors of the city is an enticing idea.
