‘Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion: 50 Years of Creativity’ at Ogden Uncon and the Penguinate Booth (space 227) on Sunday

On the final day of Ogden UnCon 2019, Shad Engkilterra is scheduled to present “Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion: 50 Years of Creativity” in the Ogden Eccles Conference Center Executive Conference Room. Taking a tour through the Haunted Mansion, attendees will get history of the Haunted Mansion and tips on becoming more creative.

At our booth, there will be penguins, books, Buddhas and posters. Our stuffed penguins are handmade with hand-embroidered eyes. Many of them are dressed in costumes; there are pirates, hipsters, BerryBerets and Sally. Jack and Pintel were adopted on Saturday.

Books by Shad Engkilterra and Darren Lamb are ready to be consumed. Shad’s books include “Disneyland Is Creativity,” “The Haunted Mansion Is Creativity” and “The Pirate Union” – a rollicking adventure on the high seas sanctioned by the bureaucrats that run the PU. Darren’s books are light with Buddhist philosophy and heavy with tension and action. If you want to live a better adventure, Darren’s stories are a great place to start.

The Buddhas at our table include Yoda Buddha, Mickey Buddha, and Rick Buddha. Embedded in each Buddha is a seed of the Bodhi tree and a dorje, which is a tool used to bring positive energy to life. Strong Jesus and Cthulu Buddy Christ are also available.

Our posters include Penguin Motivational posters and Disneyland photos from The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Bug’s Land. If you need something a little more pop culture, ask to see our comprehensive selection of Russian Lobby Cards featuring movies from the last two years. Priced at a dollar each, these collectibles are ready to take home.

The first three (3) people to come to our booth and say “Penguinating is the power of positive creativity” will get a tiny Avenger!

Giveaways – If you know the secret phrase, you could get a mini Avenger from Kinder Eggs. Brian C. Baer is offering up three stories in his “I Haunt the Spaceship” chapbook. You might find buttons or stickers, too.

Books – Author Shad Engkilterra will be available all weekend to sign his books, except when he’s presenting “Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion: 50 Years of Creativity” on Saturday at noon. Brian C. Baer is scheduled from 10:30 am Sunday to 11:30 am. His books will be available throughout the convention.

Penguins! Handmade with handsewn costumes. Come by and see who’s available for adoption. If you want to match your penguin, we have one with a scarf. If you like Power Rangers or He-Man, we have cosplaying penguins. If you like Pirates, Christmas, Halloween or the collision of two holidays, we have some of those penguins, too. Want to name your own penguin? We have a few penguins who need loving homes and names.

Posters – Stuffed penguins are great for motivation! Book covers make great posters. Need a map of Disneyland? We have those as well.

Five Things to Make June Successful for Me

Hey Penguinators, Friends, Family, and Blog Readers,

The month of June is very important to my future success. If you would like to be a part of it, there are five simple things you can do.

  1. Join my blog’s email notification. (It’s over to the right.) WordPress offers this option for anyone who has a WordPress account, so you’ll need to sign up with them. That ensures that your email isn’t going anywhere else. Alternatively, if you would like to join an actual email list, contact me. I should start one, but I haven’t found a good way to build it, yet.
  2. Join my Patreon. Even at the lowest level, you get one article a month about creativity, just for you (and all my other Penguinators). Jenya is considering doing a penguin photo a month and putting that in a calendar next year. The digital version would be something that we would give to anyone as well. If you’re coming to my events, Patreon will save you some money at my table!
  3. Buy my books. They are available on Penguinate.com and on Amazon. If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can also read them there for free.
  4. Visit my website. Every page view, every reader is important. Visiting my website costs you some time, but hopefully, you’ll gain some information that you really wanted. I focus on creativity, entertainment and travel. In June, there’ll be a lot about what’s going on at different events.
  5. Spread the word. Sharing is caring. Share a link to my books. Share a blog post you really liked. Share my Patreon page. You can share online with your social media pages and IRL. If you have one of our penguins, we’d love to see his or her adventures.

Of course, this applies to every month, but it’s particularly important to me this month. I hope to see you at one of the events I’ll be attending: Lilac City Comcicon 2019, City Cakes and Café, Ogden UnCon, Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con, and Second Chance Books Author Signing.

One Month until Amazing Las Vegas Comic Convention 2019

Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con is on June 14 to 16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and penguinate.com will be there! While we’re still awaiting word on panels. You can be sure that we will be bring our cosplaying penguins, books and posters to the convention. My wife handmakes the penguins and their outfits, so we won’t know exactly who will be available until days before the con. Watch her Instagram feed or join our Facebook page to see the latest penguins. If there’s one you like, you can preorder to make sure that you get it before anyone else grabs it. Because these penguins are unique, once they’re sold, they’re gone. Don’t worry too much though; if you’re willing to wait for a handmade penguin, we can take orders at the convention.

I will be bringing books that address those two things and more. “Disneyland Is Creativity” and “The Haunted Mansion Is Creativity” use the structure and history of their subject to illuminate principles of creativity while you tour through the park or attraction. Just one month until Lilac City Comicon 2019!

With just a month to go for the hottest ticket of the summer, preparations here at penguinate.com are ramping up. Just like last year, we’ll books, stuffed penguins, posters and Russian Lobby Cards (mini movie posters) for movies from 2017 to the present. Preordering is encouraged to make sure you don’t miss out on our great items. If you want something from Russia, let us know, and we’ll do our best to bring it with us. At our table, we will not only have books by Shad Engkilterra but we will also have Author Brian C. Baer signing copies of his books. A recognized expert in “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” his exploration of “How He-Man Mastered the Universe is an enlightening and interesting piece on a cartoon that had greater influence on the future than anyone realizes. His fictional work, “Bad Publicity” is a supernatural noir detective novel and a fun read. His books will be available throughout the convention, and there may be a chapbook “I Haunt the Spaceship” available! Times are yet to be determined for his signing. (This is subject to change depending on Baer’s availability.)

‘There Are No Penguins in Alaska’ available for preorder

In case you haven’t heard, “There Are No Penguins in Alaska,” and I wrote the book on it. Penguins, polar bears and Eskimos all live in colder climates, so many people come to Alaska expecting to see penguins! However, there are no penguins in Alaska.

If you would like to know what kinds of animals live in Alaska, my children’s story, featuring the drawings of Antonisa Scott and Oscar Feliz of Transcend Studio, talks about bears, sea life, birds and more while imploring the reader to remember that there are no penguins in Alaska. Lilac City Comicon 2019: The Hottest Ticket this year!

Lilac City Comicon 2019 will be on June 1 and 2, 2019 at the Spokane Convention center, and penguinate.com will be there again! Our second year will be bigger and better with your participation. “The Haunted Mansion Is Creativity” is scheduled to be released for the convention, and I am scheduled to give a presentation during the weekend focused on the information in my book – “The Haunted Mansion: 50 Years of Creativity.”

My presentation doesn’t have to be your main reason for going. You might also go because you love our penguins and want to pick one up from the artist herself!
